Orforglipron Tracker: What to Log on the GLP-1 Pill (2026)

Quick answer
An orforglipron tracker logs your daily dose, titration step, weight trend, protein & side effects. Learn what to track on Foundayo, the oral GLP-1 pill, and why.
Orforglipron, sold as Foundayo, is Eli Lilly's oral non-peptide small-molecule GLP-1 receptor agonist — a once-daily GLP-1 pill for weight management that can be taken with or without food, without the fasting and water rules that apply to oral semaglutide (FDA/DailyMed label).
The FDA approved it in 2026 for adults with obesity, or overweight plus at least one weight-related condition, alongside a reduced-calorie diet and more activity (FDA/DailyMed label).
Like other GLP-1s it works slowly over months on a dose that steps up on a calendar — which makes it exactly the kind of treatment that rewards good record-keeping.
This guide covers what to track on orforglipron, why each item matters, and how to turn it into a two-minute daily routine.
It is neutral and educational: you can do all of it on paper. An app just automates the parts people forget.
If you want the general framework first, or you are comparing the pill against the injections, start with our complete GLP-1 tracker app guide, then come back for the orforglipron-specific details.
01
Why an oral GLP-1 pill needs a different kind of tracking
If you have read our Wegovy tracker or Ozempic guides, forget the injection-site map — orforglipron is a pill, so there is no needle and no site rotation to log.
Three other things make tracking genuinely useful here:
It is daily, not weekly, so misses add up quietly.
A once-daily pill means 30 chances a month to slip. A single missed weekly shot is obvious; a couple of skipped pills hide in a busy week. A daily checkbox or streak turns adherence into something you can actually see.
The dose escalates on a schedule.
Orforglipron starts low and steps up at intervals of at least 30 days. Logging which mg strength you are on, and when it changed, keeps you synced to the plan and gives your prescriber a clean history at each visit.
Side effects cluster around each step-up.
Gastrointestinal symptoms are most common right after a dose increase and settle as your body adapts. Only a trend — tied to your titration date — tells you whether what you feel is normal adaptation or a red flag.
02
What to track on orforglipron (and why each one matters)
Here is the core orforglipron dataset. Use it as your checklist whether you track on paper, in a spreadsheet, or in an app.
Note there is no injection-site row — the daily-dose and titration-step rows take its place.
Daily dose, timing, and the orforglipron titration schedule
Orforglipron is deliberately started low and increased slowly to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.
Per the FDA label, the schedule is 0.8 mg once daily to start, then increases of at least 30 days apart to 2.5 mg, then 5.5 mg, and — if more weight loss is needed and it is tolerated — 9 mg, 14.5 mg, or a maximum of 17.2 mg once daily (FDA/DailyMed label; Lilly dosing).
Because the strength changes on a calendar, logging which mg you are on and the date it changed is one of the most useful things you can record.
Your prescriber decides each step, and a clean dose log makes that conversation faster.
The biggest practical advantage over the other GLP-1 pills, oral semaglutide (Rybelsus, and the Wegovy pill for weight management), is that orforglipron has no fasting or water-volume rules: take one tablet once daily, with or without food, swallowed whole (FDA label).
Oral semaglutide (Rybelsus or the Wegovy pill), by contrast, must be taken in the morning on an empty stomach with up to 120 mL (about 4 oz, half a glass) of plain water, waiting at least 30 minutes before food, drink, or other pills (Rybelsus FDA label).
That freedom is exactly why a simple daily tracker works so well — the only thing to protect is the daily habit.
The missed-dose rule (worth getting right). Because orforglipron is a daily pill, the rule differs from the weekly-injection rules.
Per the FDA label: if you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible, but don't double up on the next dose; if you miss 7 or more doses in a row, your prescriber may restart you at a lower dose to reduce gastrointestinal side effects (FDA label).
A tracker that shows your daily streak turns this into a glance instead of a guess.
Weight, measurements, and progress photos
Weight is the headline number for an orforglipron weight loss tracker, but it is noisy day to day.
Weigh in at the same time (typically morning, after the bathroom, before eating) and let the trend line — not a single reading — tell the story.
In the phase 3 ATTAIN-1 trial (72 weeks, adults with obesity without diabetes), the highest dose produced an average weight loss of about 11% versus about 2% with placebo, and about 55% of people on that dose lost at least 10% of their body weight (NEJM, 2025; ClinicalTrials.gov NCT05869903).
That is meaningful — though generally less than the ~15–21% seen in the main trials of injectable semaglutide and tirzepatide, a trade-off many people accept for a needle-free pill (see our semaglutide vs. tirzepatide guide for the injectable numbers).
Plateaus are common and medically explainable; waist measurements and photos every 2–4 weeks capture body-composition change the scale hides.
Protein, food, and protecting muscle
This is the most under-appreciated part of any GLP-1 journey.
Because orforglipron sharply reduces appetite, a meaningful share of the weight you lose can be lean body mass — reviews of GLP-1 trials put it at roughly 20–30% of lost weight on average, with wide variation between studies (and lean mass includes water and organ tissue, not only skeletal muscle) (review in IJMS, 2025).
Muscle protects your metabolism and long-term results. Two trackable habits do the heavy lifting:
- Protein. Aim for a protein target at each meal. When appetite drops, protein is usually the first thing to fall — so logging it keeps it front of mind.
- Resistance training. Strength work is the strongest defense against muscle loss on a GLP-1; log your sessions like you log your dose.
Side effects — normal vs. red flag
The most common orforglipron side effects are gastrointestinal — at the highest dose, nausea (about 35%), diarrhea (~25%), constipation (~24%), and vomiting (~24%), plus indigestion, abdominal pain, headache, and fatigue (FDA label).
These usually appear or worsen right after a dose step-up and settle as your body adapts.
Orforglipron also carries a boxed warning for thyroid C-cell tumors and is contraindicated in people with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2 (FDA label).
Rare but serious risks like pancreatitis and gallbladder disease need prompt medical assessment.
Logging what you felt, how severe, and how many days since your last dose step-up turns a vague "I've felt off" into a clear pattern.
For the full symptom-by-symptom breakdown, see our guide to GLP-1 side effects.
If you use birth-control pills: the US Foundayo label advises switching to a non-oral method or adding a barrier method for 30 days after starting and for 30 days after each dose increase.
Safety basics for any GLP-1 log. Don't use these medicines if you or a close relative has had medullary thyroid cancer, or if you have MEN 2.
They are not used during pregnancy — tell your prescriber right away if you become pregnant or plan to, because some must be stopped weeks to months beforehand.
If you also take insulin or a sulfonylurea, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion).
Vomiting or diarrhea that keeps you from holding down fluids can dehydrate you and strain your kidneys — call your clinician.
A tracker organizes your records; the package leaflet in your country and your prescriber come first.
| What to track | Why it matters | How often |
|---|---|---|
| Daily dose taken (yes/no) + time | It is a once-daily pill — daily adherence is the whole game, and a streak view catches misses fast | Every day |
| Current titration step (mg) | The dose climbs every ≥30 days (0.8 → up to 17.2 mg); logging your step keeps you and your prescriber aligned | At each step-up |
| Body weight | The primary outcome; the trend — not a single day — reveals plateaus and metabolic adaptation | 1–3× per week, same time of day |
| Waist / measurements | Catches fat loss the scale misses, especially while preserving muscle | Every 1–2 weeks |
| Protein intake (grams) | Protects lean muscle mass, which is at risk during rapid weight loss | Daily |
| Water / hydration | Eases the constipation and nausea common early and at each dose step-up | Daily |
| Side effects & severity | Separates normal adaptation (worst just after a step-up) from red-flag symptoms | As they occur |
| Progress photos | Visual proof of body-composition change when the scale stalls | Every 2–4 weeks |
| Refill / tablet supply | A daily pill runs out on a predictable date; avoids a coverage gap | Monthly |

How to build an orforglipron tracking routine in 6 steps
You do not need a complicated system — you need a repeatable one. This takes seconds a day plus a quick weekly review.
- 1
Set a daily pill reminder.
Pick a consistent time and set a recurring alert so a missed pill never sneaks up on you.
- 2
Check off the dose right after taking it.
A one-tap "taken" builds a visible streak — the single best predictor of results.
- 3
Log each titration step.
When your prescriber moves you up (2.5 → 5.5 → 9 → 14.5 → 17.2 mg), record the new mg and the date.
- 4
Weigh in on fixed days.
Choose 1–3 mornings a week, same conditions, and read the trend — not the daily noise.
- 5
Track protein and water daily, and note side effects when they happen.
Record the symptom, severity, and days since your last step-up.
- 6
Photo every 2–4 weeks and review before each visit.
Same lighting, same angle — and bring your dose log and side-effect timeline to your clinician.
04
Do you need an orforglipron app, or is a notebook fine?
Honestly, any tracking beats none — an orforglipron diary in a notebook works.
What an app adds is the automation of the parts people forget: the daily reminder, the adherence streak, the titration-step history, the trend line that smooths daily weight noise, and a side-effect timeline you can hand to your clinician.
Orforglipron does not ship with a dedicated companion app, so most people use a general GLP-1 or wellness tracker.
If you want your dose log living next to the daily habits that protect your results — protein, movement, hydration, weight and body-composition trends — a wellness app like HAVIT is a natural home for it.
Compare a few options in our best GLP-1 tracker apps guide and pick what you will actually keep using; consistency matters far more than the brand.

Why HAVIT — Medication + Behavior Change, in One App
GLP-1 medications can meaningfully reduce weight — but the number on the scale is only part of the story.
A meaningful share of the weight lost on GLP-1 therapy can come from lean tissue rather than fat — estimates range from about 15% or less to 40–60% across studies (Neeland et al., Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, 2024), and results tend to fade once the medication stops unless new habits take their place.
That's why leading guidance treats medication as one part of care, not the whole: the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends that adults with obesity be offered intensive, multicomponent behavioral interventions (USPSTF, Grade B).
HAVIT is built for exactly this moment — one app that unites medication tracking, body composition, nutrition and protein, daily habit-building, and an AI coach that adapts to you.
Across our own 1,090 GLP-1 users, the most consistent trackers built the strongest habits (see the GLP-1 habit report).

What is HAVIT?
HAVIT is an AI health partner built on metabolic science — it protects your muscle, wakes up your metabolism, and helps you keep a healthy, rebound-free body for the long run.
Unlike calorie-only trackers, HAVIT connects AI body-composition estimates, nutrition, hydration, sleep, steps, cycle, mood, and GLP-1 medication in one daily routine — so progress is measured by body composition, not just the number on the scale. Daily missions turn established behavior-change techniques into small repeatable actions, drawing on expertise from professionals formerly at Juvis Diet, one of Korea’s leading metabolic clinics.
In HAVIT’s own analysis of 1,090 GLP-1 users, people who logged consistently built stronger habits than the general user base. Read the GLP-1 Habit Report
